If you want to spend the night, consider staying at Sanasai Inn right on the beach with ocean view rooms with AC and private bath. The fifth and last park on my list, Peinandazhen Riverside Park is a small park with not much to offer apart from a nice view over the surrounding mountains. Jia Lu Lan is a nice scenic spot facing the sea with a couple of sculptures and artworks. Local artists regularly come here and install their art. Taitung County has a lot to offer, you could easily stay for two weeks there and do something new every day.
A former spur-line station once brought trains into the center, the former station is now part of a vibrant urban renewal project, the 'Railway Art Village'. That's a fine area in which to base yourself while in town. Not all people in Taitung only drink millet wine. Among them, red oolong is also a very representative specialty product . Many people say that once you have tasted the red oolong in Taitung you can’t tolerate less. Many star-rated hotels also use the red oolong tea by Fun Tea Garden.

Occasionally, the teachers from Taitung University will bring graduate students for an outdoor Taiwan Film Research class here. Pisilian, located in Taitung, means the "shepherd's land" in Amis language. It used to be an aboriginal tribe in Sansiantai. There are 11 of Jimmy's paintings in the Pisilian tribe, mainly in the theme of the main character, the little girl Xiaomi and the dog Agi in "Towards the Spring Afternoon". There are also scenes showing the little girl coming back with elephants, bears and other animals after she goes to the circus.

Follow the ‘Flower Route’ to admire this colorful spectacle as well as the beautiful views of Taimali. Note that after you finish strolling through Taitung Night Market, which is near the bus station, you can walk to Siwei Night Market, which is smaller but also more local. Since most of the places to visit in Taitung I mention in this post are in Taitung City itself, I’m going to recommend you stay there as well. The best time to visit Taitung is between November and April.
It’s a great activity for outdoor lovers who want to try something new and explore some of Taitung’s natural wonders. With that said, the park is huge, and there’s lots of space to get away from the large tour groups. Besides taking photos of all the cool artworks, the park also offers incredible coastal views. There are lots of benches where you can sit down and admire the scenery, but make sure also to climb to the top of the elevated lookout deck. If the name rings a bell, you’re thinking of Yehliu – one of northern Taiwan’s most famous geological wonders and a popular day trip from Taipei.
